What’s in my Cart – September 2020
Y’all… I mean Y’ALL! What a flipping year it has been. It has been a brutal beat down mentally to everyone and it has forever changed the way we live and work.
One major change in our family moving forward is how we give. Our family is very blessed and our siblings and family are not lacking any of the basic needs others are right now and because of that, we have changed how we celebrate Christmas starting this year. We will no longer be buying gifts for adults. Strictly the kids will get gifts this year and the money that my husband and I would have typically spent on gifts for our parents, siblings, in-laws, etc will be given to someone in need. While I haven’t figured out exactly what we plan to do this season I have been looking into a few charity options.

Now, with that said we do have a fairly large gaggle of nephews and nieces and so I knew it was time to start shopping to spread out the finances and to help combat the Christmas and shipping rush. So, let me share with you what made it’s way into my online shopping cart this week as I start my Christmas shopping!
We have 8 nephews and only 2 nieces so I really do enjoy my shopping for the girls. We also have our best friend’s daughter who is like a niece who gets an equal amount as the other kids from us. Ranging in age from 7 to 11 this year the girls are getting necklaces from us and I scoured Etsy looking for just the right piece to match their personality.
Here are the three I picked out.
Each of the girls is also getting a journal. This year has mentally drained everyone and our kids are missing their friends and family during this time. Because of that, we felt that each girl needed an outlet to put down their feelings. The girls are all big readers and book fans and we wanted to support that as well.
So, the three girls have been checked off the Christmas list but while I was in the journal section I shipped a journal to a dear friend who’s husband decided after 25 years and two kids this marriage thing wasn’t as fun as he thought and left right before the quarantine happened this year. With so much sitting on her heart and so much blame being thrown around this journal is perfect for her to write it all down and let it go!
During quarantine, I was kicking myself that I had stopped doing freezer meals. When food and supplies became a little short on the shelves of the grocery store I opened our freezer and immediately was mad at myself for slacking off on that and so I’ve jumped back into
So I talked to a few people who are freezer meal pros and much better at sticking to it them me and asked for a few tips and must-have supplies. So I bought a Food Saver and some containers to help me get back into the swing of things.
Also, I purchased this Safe Slice Mandoline. I haven’t used one in years after my Sister in Law lost part of her thumb to one so I’m taking a leap of faith with this version and I also purchased a chopper that many of the Youtube Food Prep Ladies were using faithfully!
So, I’m excited for stuff to start showing up because I am ready to start prepping some freezer meals!
I hope you find something helpful here today and as always thank you for stopping by!
